Dilute only with distilled water, the colors are full of pigment and remain usable even at 1 part color/1.5 parts water.
With the colors I’ve used so far (Brilliant Violet 447, Zinc White 020) I rarely use any surfactant at all but when needed I have experienced that the Maimeri Ox-Gall isn’t strong enough so I prefer to use a weak solution of dish washing fluid (P&G Fairy Professional) in a water/soap ratio of 20:1 and then add drops of that solution to the already diluted paints until I got them to spread as desired. The other surfactant I have tried was the Liquitex Flow Aid but I don’t have enough information to talk good or bad about it.
